The use of pictograms, or simplified images, is the most convenient method of guiding and assisting them in their travels. However, if pictograms are not set correctly, or if only written signs are in use, then visitors are more likely to get lost. It has there been determined that the use of pictograms is very important to the safety and ease-of-movement for travelers in Japan. In this study, the authors investigated recognition and utilization of pictograms using Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) pictograms. These were evaluation by Chinese and Japanese participants. As a result of this research, the authors determined that Japanese and Chinese recognition and utilizations for JIS pictograms differ slightly. That is, whilst Japanese subjects generally understood them in an airport environment, Chinese subjects understood some of them more easily.}, pages = {31--42}, title = {中国人と日本人のピクトグラムの認知度に関する研究}, volume = {3}, year = {2017} }
